suspension settings for 749R
Could anyone suggest either a website (or better still a company in the South East) that could advise me of/set-up the suspension on my 749R? I don't understand the various settings well enogh to start fiddling about with it myself, although I do think it's something worth getting done properly. Thanks in advance

if you not sure, the best thing you can do is take it to a suspention specialist. k-tec is the local one to me,they were a big help to me. ring them on 01530 810625

Here you go ... it's probably one of the best resource for the 749/999 suspension, will apply for 749R too:

go to a suspension expert like K Tec, the 749R uses a different rocker and arm to other models, its got different leverage ratios and progression. Remember settings for road are a lot different to track and the tuners will need to know what kind of roads you ride on, i run a softer set-up on my 999S just because theres a lot of bumps and changes in road surface on my normal roads, I've tried swapping springs to 6 kg lighter and 5 heavier on rear and tried different ride heights front and rear, I left damping settings at factory until i got the springs and geometry sorted, only then can you start to get the best from the knobs and adjustors.

Hi

I remember back in 95 when I bought one of the first 748Sp's I took the bike to Bains racing for a service and suspension set up (based at Silverstone).

Mr Bains took the bike out himself (at the time I think he was racing a 916/955 in the BSB himself) and made all the adjustments and oh what a difference it made all included within the price of the service.

At that time they where small and working from a small unit/workshop but as companys grow in general these touches disappear.

You can always contact them and ask.

Regards
