Rectifier / Regulator remounting idea\'s
Next on the menu, I have a replacement for my regulator already, I'm going to change it anyway as I figure 13 years is pretty much a warning.

I remember reading ages ago about someone in the USA mounting it at the rear of the bike, not so sure about that given UK weather but, for the SS I did think about mounting it in the 'cockpit' area, under the headlight somehow, so that it gets an airflow from the ducts in the fairing.

Comments please???

Also I did see mention that the connections are also a weak point and can be modified / improved - cant find that webpage either

Cheers - Frank

Aye,it was one of Shazaams posts. He fitted it inside the rear mudguard.
Just remember to connect the 'earthing' tag and fit some sort of heat sink.

This is the one:

As for connectors, having just redone all mine after having charging problems, I have opted for some 40A rated bullet connectors from Maplins, but rather than just crimping them onto the thicker guage wire I have also fitted from the Alternator, I have removed the plastic coating that comes with them, and soldered them on, then covered in heat shrink.

Tidy job.
