916 running like crap
Just had my bodywork back from HC Race tech, so was so excited, but when I took the old girl out for a run its spitting and farting all over the place.
She ticks over fine but as soon as I put revs on her she is not HP....

As the tanks has been empty for a while could the filter catch all the crud as I have now filled up the tank again.

Any ideas guys and girls.....

Another thing that it could be is a split rubber pipe in the fuel pump. That happened to me last year and it took over a month to figure out the issue. You may want to check that the injectors are getting enough pressure.

Well I am a knob, fitted the new filter but due to my lack of brains I forgot to buy a new o ring for the mounting plate.
Used the old one a fuel ****ed all over the bike and the garage floor.
Wife went mad and the whole house stinks of petrol.....

Will have to wait untill tuesday to order a new one, I do feel a right plonker rodney

i did the same job last week and used the old sealing ring and i seem to have got away with it.

are you sure that you haven't just trapped it or something as they are (as i was warned) a bit tricky to get back in. i got mine seated square by lining the plate up in the hole and then clamping it down very progressively (half a turn on each bolt in turn) using 3 longer bolts, although i had to guide the ring in gently with my finger on one side of the plate.

this worked for me, but if i were you, before trying this method i'd wait for it to be OK'd by one of the more experienced guys on here as it was the first time i've ever done the job.

The o ring was so loose it just kept falling off, as soon as I turned the mounting plate over the ring would fall off.
I think the petrol over the years has just mullered it.
I will play safe and get a new one.

Get a new one and use vaseline to ensure it slips in
