Tyre supplier/fitting in South of France
Anyome one of here had any tyres supplied or fitted in the Cannes/Nice area?

Would like some nice new tyres, Pirelli Diablo, fitted after finishing off a pair on the way down.

Tempted to try a ducati dealer, the only official dealer I can find is in Monaco, Virginio Ferrari, I thought I had seen a Ducati delaer in cannes years ago, but not listed on Ducati.com

Who are the equivalent of national tyre, or wraysbury tyres down there???

I'd pre book to ride in and ride out.

TIA

Ray.

On our last trip we ended up replacing front and rear on a 999s at a honda dealer - he charged 400 euros! Get yourself a quote!

I used the Honda dealer in Antibes last year. Booked the day before, rode-in/rode-out the next morning. He had a pretty good tyre selection; I got exactly what I wanted (D208RR). You really _should_ try the Route Napoleon on brand-new tyres!

Had tyres in the past at a bike shop in the centre of Orange. An hour or so from Cannes etc but a nice place for a night out.

I used Euromaster in France last year, was a nightmare, didnt have no choice as has totaly worn my rear tyre and they were the only company i could find that were open and had a bike tyre, the fitter used a trolley jack under the exhaust at the bottom and a pipe wrench to remove the rear wheel nut (748).

Didnt have no choice as it was the only place i could find in an emercency, in the end i just looked away and hoped for the best.

Lesson lernt, check tyres before going away for 4 days total riding!!!

I had a problem in Toulon a couple of years ago and the Ducati dealer could not fix it, one of his mechanics took me to a Ducati race shop called Plein Pots who had about 20 dukes kicking about the place including stacks of tyres, they sorted me out, I believe they are on the net though I may have a phone number at home if of any interest.....

Thank for the info.

Toulon is a bit too far 120 mile round trip from where I'm staying.

There's a dealer in Monaco, Virginio Ferrari, remmber him? but worried that "Monaco residents" prices might be the norm.

Found a Ducati dealer in Nice and another in Le cannet, I'll find out if my poor French is better than their poor English

Not too sure whether to go with a Ducati dealer who I hope has a decent set of stands/tools but might lift my leg for the tyres or go for a tyre dealer who might not have the appropriate stands/tools but where the tyres might be more reasonable. The former seems the favourite so far.

Trying a couple of dealers for a quote for supply and fitting.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Thanks again,

Ray

Setting off Tonight and booked into Probike for a new set of boots for the N85.

Glad I didn't go with me mate on the Plymouth Santander boat as it ended up getting damaged in a force 9 and diverting to Roscoff
