non starter - any ideas?
He guys
Well don't know what's going on. Went to start the 749 after its monster layoff and... nothing. Charged battery in, dash lights up as it should and lights go out but neutral light goes out as well leaving just the oil light on. And the bike is in neutral. Checked the fuses - ok. Also can't remember back that far but can you not hear the fuel pump make a buzzing noise - 'cos it ain't now! Any clues would be happily received!!
Cheers

The electronics may not let the bike start if its not in neutral (of if it thinks it isn't in neutral)

Check its not in a false neutral (can be between 3rd and 4th)

or

The neutral light switch may have got stuck, if you put it into gear (you may have to roll the bike back and forward a bit to get it in) then it may click it back into life.

when the neutral light then comes on, the fuel pump should prime and your off!

good luck.

Yeah that makes sense, I was thinking it must be something to do with neutral. Have been up and down the box a few times without seeing neutral but will try rolling it in gear - thanks!

Could just be the connection on the neutral light switch in the back of the gear box.Had trouble starting my Multi and found the connection was loose.
Try starting the bike with the clutch lever pulled in.

Thanks for your suggestions and spot on to KeefyB - the neutral wire was loose! Does not seem to really go in well at all. Never mind all is good now...
Cheers
