Lightbulb Which 800ie?
Forgive me but I've been thinking (yes, you can hear the ticking sound up north, even as far as Guildford!) about this!

Which 800 Duke should I get?
800SSie?
S2R - 800?
800 Monster?

I've been hankering after an 800SSie cos I want to go trackdaying but I know I'm gonna have lotsa problems twisting my back to be able to even see where I'm going with clip-ons!
S2R sounds a good bet but what are the advantages over a std 800 Monster? After all, the std monster is gonna be a good bit cheaper than an S2R, but there still aren't many of them around.

Keep your 620 and uprate it to an 800 as you will lose less than buying another bike Paul.
Youd need barrels & piston and maybe an upgrade on the computer tho you can prob do this with a power commander. cheaper way to go mate.
I dont know what happened to the bb kit that geoff used at the beginning of last year went to but that would be ideal for your needs

you could even try & get an 800 engine (or a 900 for that matter) & swap it in and flog the 620 engine to a dd'er and get your dosh back.

can also buy fairings to put on and off as the mood takes you for trackdays, sportsbike one week and monster the next

hope this helps muddy your waters even more

Thumbs up
Just the 2 trusty war horses I'd expect
Too late for the 620 Al, Bunny took her away after my BBQ a couple of weeks ago, hopefully get the money for Monica in a week or so then I'll be on the look out. Just a bit concerned about the SuperSport option cos there's not a lot of em around and not sure about fitting HeliBars, but are there any more Monsters about? I could fit the rizoma style clip ons to a monster & get away with them cos they aren't so low down.
I want to stick with the 800 ie, or a VERY late 750ie, as the engine is a lot smoother than the 900/1000 and the wet clutch is easier to use (my finger hurts )
S'pose I better wait and see what turns up first eh

Paul, twin discs on the SS are worth having over the Sport single disc or the new S2r version.

I know of a clean 750ssie, but wasn't planning to sell until next spring... perhaps I could be persuaded to re think...
