Valve clearance checking/adjustment
Hallo all,
I reckon it's about time the valve clearances were checked on my SS - I don't think I have the mechanical ability to do this myself and unfortunately I live just outside Cambridge which is basically a black hole as regards useful bike mechanics/dealers. Mention Ducati valve adjustment to any of them and it's generally followed by something along the lines of "dunno about that mate, bring it along with the manual and we'll have a go" which doesnt fill me with confidence to be honest.
So, a quick question - does anyone know of a decent bike mechanic around Cambridge, Peterborough or Luton who knows about desmo engines?
Cheers!
A.

Smile dunno mate . . .
but if you scan the manual into your PC and then put a picture of it up here - we will have a go at recommending someone for you!

Pay no attention to khushy, adk !
Its quiet on here just now cos there are oe or two members up in lincolnshire for a couple of days.
When they get back to work on weds, someone will put you out of your misery, as there are quite a lot of members near you really.

Official dealer for the area is St.Neots m/cycles.Not had any work done by them myself but Monty says they are ok.
If you are not fussed about going official, try Mark Brewin at BSD,Eye Green near Peterborough. All the mags use him and he is a long time Ducati enthusiast.
