I have some naughty boys please help!!!
I know that this is completely bike unrelated...but I need some help.

Can anybody direct me to any good literature on behaviour management?
I am "super nanny" with dark skin but I have some boys that are not yet succumbing to to my "charm" in the classroom...I need some good strategies as the positive behaviour management isn't yet working.

I know the old "cane em, hit em, good smack'll do the trick, blah de blah" but I can't do that it's the new Millenium!
Any help from you wise people on here would be greatfully recieved

L x

slow process of rewarding even the slightest good behaviour
and once a little progress has been made explaining to them why the bad behaviour makes you "sad"
not sure3 what school rules are like these days, but one of our teachers used to keep a bag of wine gums in her bag.

Find their level and speak to em at that - rewards for good stuff - be unmoving for others. They will play you -play them back

Always explain your reasons for good or bad. Make them think - turn it around. Give them options. Then they choose thier punishment or otherwise.

Adolecents - know it all - know feck all - we know that - they dont!

I've got 2 of the ******s - however mine are nice - but it doens't mean ihaven't had to be devious in the past

Liza, Im afraid I'm not the best person in the world for advice of this nature.I and my twin brother once had a head teacher ring my Mum and asked could she come to school and take us home as we we untolearable. Im a good boy now I hope . I would of thought you arriving late one day with the full leathers and helmet on bursting into the classroom would do it for any hot blooded youngster (All respect intended) or some one looking for a role model
Unfortunetly most of the problems with kids stem from their home life. If they get no respect at home, there won't show any, live with criticism, learn to condemn. live with hostility learn to fight, live with ridicule learn to be shy.
On the other hand, learns tolerance learns to be patience, lives with encouragment learns confidence, lives with praise learns to appreciate.
I'm sure I dont need to be teaching the teacher, but as for a quick fix Fraid not. Teachers now a days have far to many restrictions on Rewards and Punishment and kids no it to there advantage. Bring back the cane I say. Regards 4D

Lisa, e-mail my girlfriend Carol. She teaches in a large local comprehensive and her job is to deal with the students that the other teachers can't handle, either in class groups or on a one to one basis.

I'll pm her e-mail address to you.
