Nice one...yeah there are some rules...does look a bit of a free for all to the unitiated.

I played Aussie Rules for 10 year, great game!! To a reasonably high standard, comparable to 'county level' I guess. (SA country, VFA, NTFA and the SA Metropolitan for anyone in the know??)

Just watched my team Adelaide get beat in the semi's last weekend...might check it out if I get a pass out.

I`ve watched aussie rules football at the Oval and can highly recomend it.

The rules are quite interesting and I sussed them out quite quickly: you get the ball and kick it then a couple of minutes, after you have touched the ball, two or three large gorrilas come and kick you head in!!!!!.

The Dinkum dog were good as well.

When I was in Oz I tried watching a few games on telly and I thought what a load of old cobblers. But I ended up going to a game in Sydney. The West Coast Eagles v Sydney Swans. I loved it and am keen to see another game. Shame the Swans won though. As Perth was my favourite city I made them my team while I was there. Far better than the Fremantle Shockers! Not sure about the thing with the coaches being allowed to go on the pitch during play to give tactics. Plus when you consider how physical a sport it is, the fans all mix in the terraces and there is no trouble. Unlike our 'beautiful' game.
