open clutch covers

just some quick ones im thinking of getting a open clutch cover to replace the standard one what happens when it rains will the clutch slip at all if water gets in there is it best to not use them if u use the bike in ALL weathers??

no it wont slip in the rain
a normal clutch doesn't slip in a bath of oil
the only reason Ducati have them is due to there racing influence
you may want to get some stainless springs though or the originals will rust.
lots of people use them so don't be to worried.
I would suggest you go for a good Ali one rather than carbon.
so if you do have an off you wont have to buy lots of clutch parts also.?

yeh not to keen on carbon really ill get a gold ally one me thinks its already got stainless springs from the previous owner he must have had a open cover on it then kept it or summin

also

rather than start another thread with a boring question but why is the 55mph on the speedo in red just someone asked me that the other day and i didnt no why eaither sorry for sounding stupid lol

I do believe it is due to the USA having a 55mph speed limit, & we get the same clocks as they do, typical cost cutting I guess

, could be wrong, but thats what I believe it to be.

You are right..its cos of the bikes entering the US market, mind you its to remind them that thats the max speed in relation to their ability ha ha

Yep. Stay AWAY from carbon clutch covers!
I had one, lost the front at Cadwell, fairings where a bit scuffed but I managed to tear out the clutch!
Cardon cover give sod-all protection.

Re alu covers have a look at Speedymoto.com, they are a little more expensive but alot more substancial and have been developed for racing and surviving the odd tumble, pressure plates are also quite neat.
Nelly at Cornerspeed usually has a selection in stock

Yep, I'll vouch for the Speedymoto plate and open cover.
They look great (before you crash them) and they do the job (when you crash 'em!).
