Myer Briggs Personality Type Indicator
Has anyone done it before?

What did you think of it?

Was it accurate to you?

Did knowing more information about your 'type' affect how you've approached anything since gaining that knowledge? Were there aspects you weren't happy within yourselves that you actively tried to change after gaining this knowledge?

I did it for an employer in 1999. I've been reading up on it again this morning and done a couple of different online assesments again this morning and they all lead back to the same type.

Here's the 'wiki' on the subject and here's a 'wiki' on the Forer effect which makes an interesting counterpoint.

Is it all bollox?

Seriously - there is always something interesting to be learned from analysis, but like plans, its not the piece of paper theyre written on that matters, its what you do about them/it.

(God, what a waste of time, telling an oz about self-improvement principles)

OUCH (I just got virtual-slapped)

I see you didn't read the wiki's I included ... specifically where it refers to pigeon-holing

I'll go along with that, i remember vaguely from a course years ago and that was my memory of it.

It's a bit like astrology, it's very broad and most people can normally find a tiny bit of the theory that applies to them, but that's all.

'not a life-changing experience exactly.

I do, and I'm doing it ... this role hardly taxes me so I have plenty of spare capacity ...

I like having spare capacity, it means I don't get as stressed. This is a good thing in my life right now.
