Hi everyone, and happy new year to you all!!!!!

I'm just back from my Christmas holidays, and have just started to get around to sorting the Ducati out, following my nasty High-side at Jerez in November.

I've just got hold of a single seat unit, which is on its way to me as we speak. Its gonna need spraying up etc, but thats no prob.

However, I'm asking you lot if you know where I can get hold of all the fittings for it?

Are any of them transferable from my Bip unit, which I still have albeit in a nasty state?!

How do I go about securing the rear light unit to it???

Is it all gonna cost me a further fortune???

Any help, as always, is massively appreciated.

You can use all the bits from the BP seat if you want.Then all you need are the spacers and screws.

if you don't mind me asking Mark...where abouts are you getting it sprayed and how much is it going to cost. I've recently got a seat unit off a fellow DSC member that could do with a fresh paint job, but I'm finding most places want in excess of £200 for a full seat unit respray with number boards, which seems a bit pricey to me.

Marks in Portugal again I believe.
Sure theres a member who does spraying and is supposed to be v good.
Cant remember who was talking not so long ago but also Yellow Bip is a bit of a painter too, worth an email for nowt.

You are wrong mate.
You can not use the rear light mounting plate for the mono as you had on the bip.
Mono is a flat plate while bip is angled to allow for the pillion pad.
Most other bits are same but as you said it is necessary to have the spacers in there to raise the seat unit.
You dont need all the bits on the list Jasp posted but you do need most.
Here is the link to the Ducati website page for the '00 996 so you can see what you need and what you have which might do.

866.1.024.1A Left hand pad

Front hinge and pins will swap, rear locating pin will do and a few of the nuts and washers but you will see when you check it out.

Got all mine for the full replacement seat I have just sold for about £30 if memory serves me right.
Get all your part numbers and ring your local dealer, if none local you could try JHP?

I'll jot down all the info that you've given me and do some ringing about, but I'll probably end up getting the parts from the UK in the end anyway, as the 'Dealers' here are a bit of a mare!

Yella - I use the bracket from my Bip on a single seat - just fibreglassed some wood into the underside of the unit to build up the height and screwed it in. Mine is a after market seat so not sure if this would work with a 'proper' one. I just change all the fittings when I need to take a pillion. Whe I looked at the cost to get all the bits, it was more than the seat cost!!
