thats solved it dave...im painting my headlamp holder as it was gold when i got me bike..tried two diff paints from halfords & they a mile off. but i carnt take the bike up cus my forks seals are being replaced..so i thought i could paint while shes in bits

....joking aside mate, if you try something along the lines of BMW's granite silver, or any other silvery grey, you might have a bit of luck... Failing that you could always say to hell with the expense and just order yourself a ducati paint !!

Oh yeah.. Pedro, if you want some real advice as to the paint colour to use... If it was my bike I'd be using satin black....looks far classier !

Call PPG's customer service centre. Sorry, don't have number to hand anymore, but they had all the Ducati colour codes including the frame colours. Then go to a good automotive paint supplier, like AE Motor Colours and the can mix you a pint or a aerosol can. Worked for me.
