There is a Class A DD bike running with something very similar, can't recall if its No 80 or 81

I am running a very similare setup on two of my bikes, except that we machined up the aluminium adaptors from the carbs to the K&N filters ourselves.

Certinly they work well, though our primary aim was to keep the road dust, etc out of the cylinders rather than extra performance.
