When you clean all the dried bugs off your visor with one of those handy kitchen sponge cleaners just remember not to use the scouring side

Baby wipes mate !!!!!
They are brilliant... use them on my lid and on the bike, they do smear, but I always polish afterwards so it makes no odds to me !
Bad luck though.. has it done a lot of damage ???

a patch of scratches a couple of inches round (before i realised what had happened) iriduim visor as well
