New barrel and piston for the 600
There is a ducati part 12020424A ,the vertical barrel kit for the monster engine that replaces my ss 12510221A (now unobtainium). The monster barrel has mounting holes for a different cambelt tensioner, but mine will still be bolted onto the crankcase, will there be any problem using this?
The barrel, piston, rings and piston pin for around £200, which must be cheaper than a Baines piston, Nicosil and new rings?

Pete I ca't be certain but if I recall there is an issues with oil way alignment or something between the later 1999 to 2001 Monster 583cc engines and the earlier engines
