As Chris says its the Air Temp sensor
Its a Magneti Marelli ATS 05 part required by the ECU to help get the fueling correct on Cold and Warm days by triming the main fueling map

Unless it was a 620 Multistrada it would have looked a bit different to the one in Craigs Pic

The 620 Sport and Monster combine the Air temp sensor with the Air pressure sensor

Well up until 18 months ago I did have to Partical Accelerators to distract me 5 days of the week
Now I have 4 days of the week for this hobby
