Would a 999R termi fit a 749R ?
I have the chance of a 999R termi for about £350 but did not know if it would fit the standard pipes on my 749R.

I know the link pipes would not fit but could i use the standard pipes with the cat in until i got the correct link pipe, or would it run fine with the cat left in ?

Also would the bike run ok with the standard ecu and filters or is it not worth the hassle.

Any views appreciated

When i first fitted the decatted stuff on my 999r i ran it without changing the cpu first. I was convinced it went smoother.

Then i fitted the cpu. We both know the best way is to get it set up on the proper machine (maffis?) which i did.

Any way you want to check you have the latest cpu, tell them its missing or stalling, to get it changed/checked.

If the 999R termi system is from an 03 bike with the cast swingarm it will NOT fit your 749R , the fabricated swingarm is much deeper so the long pipe from the horizontal cylinder is a different shape.

If however the system is from an 04 bike it should fit fine.

The bike will run fine using the standard ECU , you may not get the absolute power gains from the pipe that you would using a specific ECU for an assymetric termi but the 999R ECU will not work on your bike once it has been fitted to a previous bike , a replacement ECU from Ducati is £450

The guy has decided to sell the full set up from the 999R.

It is an 03 model with link pipe, filters and ecu but he wants between £700 - £750 which i do not want to pay as i can get the correct one for not much more.

As I said , it will not fit anyway , an '03 bike will have the cast swingarm , I have already tried a front pipe from a system designed for the standard swing arm and it fouls on the bottom of the fabricated swing arm , also the mounting point by the footrest does not match
