Camera for Bullet Cams...
Sorry to ask this - had a quick look in search, could find the right info...

Looking at buying a small digital camcorder that will fit under my (mono seat) and also run one of these bullet cams from highview.

A while back someone mentioned a JVC at about 300 mark - that is about my limit without getting into trouble with the wife...

Any help greatly appreciated.

Regards
Les

Mine is a JVC GRD 70EK from RGB Direct. The price now is about £285 inc vat and shipping. Its got AV in which is what you need for a bullet cam.

Better still - what is the physical size...

I can then measure up under the seat.

Many thanks in advance.

Steve I have a Sony DCR-TRV22E about £375.00 6 months ago and the way these things go, probably a lot less now. Measures about 125mm x 80mm x 60mm thick. Touch screen, memory stick, zoom and a lot of other stuff I don't understand.

Try this out http://www.prcdirect.co.uk/PRC/PRC.storefront

Dunno about the 996 cos I've got an ST4!! Its 155mm long 95mm high and 75mm wide so its slightly bigger than the sony. My plan is to use it with a bullet cam but as yet i havent got around to it.

All you need to make sure when you buy is that its got AV in,not all cams do.

Many thanks to jon and paul for your help...

Have decided on a sony - HC40 (this seems to have all the requirements - so now time to part with my money...gulp!!!

I will also be going for a bullet cam...
I see 2 names that come up:

Highview and rfconcepts - is there any difference between the two???

Also do I need a LANC remote - or would the remote from the Camcorder suffice?

Regards - Les

You can get a kit off Highview, cam, leads, mic etc.

Give him a ring or http://www.highviewelectronics.co.uk/

I'd recomend highview too, he's a member here and a really good guy.

Try a search on hear for highview and you'll see many good reports of his products and assistance.
