Quick Change Carrier 996
How easy is it to fit one of these? has any one seen any instructions on the web? what tools are required, info appreciated

Dead easy. If you have access to a Haynes manual or Duc workshop manual just follow the procedure for changing the OEM rear sprocket.

The only tools you need which you may not have are a 41mm socket for the axle nut and a decent (fairly large) pair of circlip pliers.

You might also want to think about changing your cush drive rubbers while you've got it all in bits.

....and don't forget to put thread lock on them little bolts wot hold the sprocket ring to the carrier.
Not that I'm speaking from experience of corse!

Even with threadlock on I'm finding mine loose every 500 miles or so. Very paranoid about checking them at the moment.

I'm now on Loctite 222 to hold the bu&&ers in.

Yep, tapped holes, so NyLoc's aren't an option.

If Loctite 222 doesn't work, I'm getting a set of bolts drilled for wirelocking and going down that route instead, although it kinda defeats the quick change...

What make of carrier are you using? Renthal are studs and nylocs to hold sprocket to carrier.
