BMF...So then...Did you bag a bargain?

I really enjoyed my trip to the BMF. I'm not sure that I would make a special effort to go though unless the DSC and Cornerspeed were there. That kinda made the day.
I thought some of the stands were wide ranging from superb to "old tat". There were alot of jumble sales going on and you really need to "know" what you were looking for and go with a list. I looked for children's clothing and was disappointed with the quality and price of what was on offer. The kids came off empty handed for bike kit "again".
I did get a red dainese lid and replacement visor for £50 (to match my road leathers) and an AGV matt black demon V for £45...(to match my track stuff...you know how women need to be colour co-ordinated!:P)
Oh! What it is to have an XS head!:P

Goes With out saying
Loads of Bargains mainly in the Auto Jumble but not all
Nice 6" Marchesini Mag wheel for a 916/996/998 for £180 from the stand just across from the DSC stand also had a nice new Harris race can off them Alloy Sleeve with Ti ends £35, will hopefully fit the 600SS DD bike.

Also on one of the large clearance stands they were selling new 916 lead acid batteries for £1 each so both I and Senna3 had two each.

Picked up a Brembo radial front brake master cylinder for £600 although it did come with a J reg CBR400RR NC29 (Gullarm) attached.
Also picked up along the way 50mm Harris Clip-ons £50, Hi Level Monster Exhausts £60, Giles rearsets missing just one footpeg for my GSXR6000 for £70, left and right 748/916 fibreglass fairing sides for £5ea. Also picked up quite a few other odds and ends.
Will head back up there for Sept 18th to see what bargains I can find at the Tailend show.

Of course it does...Rushjob helped me to find the right size helmet...
Non of my helmets ever fitted correctly and I had help with fitting from the shop...Couldn't have done it without his expert advice.

Didn't venture outside the DSC & Cornerspeed area all weekend, apart from a little trip to the auto jumble. I was looking for a rear wheel but all I found were front wheels - weird I thought it was the fronts that usually got mullered.

I couldn'y believe the tat that some people were selling up there though, like half a 999 sidepanel that had split right across - the other half wasn't included in this bargain sale. There were another couple of panels that had holes scuffed into them as well.

Quite a few old ST panels kicking around, but I didn't take much interest in them at the time because they were all, naturally, damaged and had older graphics on them than my bike. It was only when I got home that I thought, hmmmmmmm a fiver each, why didn't I buy them for trackdays? DOH !!!

As for going around the other stands, I couldn't think of anything I really needed at the time, either in the way of new clothing or bling. It was only when I got home that I thought, hmmmmmmm why didn't I look for a Ventura bag to go with the rack I bought a while back? DOH !!!

Next year I will go with my hindsight enabled....oh, and with some money!

Well theres nothing worse than a helmet that moves about too much rather than being snug to its enviroment .... I tend to find removal is a much more pleasurable experience when the fits right .... too tight and it cathces .. too loose and kind of just falls away .....

..... you asked babes ... xx
