Most peculiar

Hello all, is it me or has petrol quality/composition changed over the past fortnight here in dear old blighty?

Been using the St4s for daily 120 mile round trip to work, and over the past fortnight its' developed a quirk, to-wit
after a longish spell at motorway speeds when the throttle is then shut off quickly it will maybe stall, or spit back through the intake or both.
The normal running temp is up by @ 2 degrees at 73 (C) ,
and I'm getting better MPG, on standard 95 unleaded.
It also likes full 'choke' now to start, rather than 1/2 as before.

All of which would seem to indicate the old girl (26,000 miles) is running lean, but I haven't had any of the settings changed, that I know of.

I've got a few days off work now so I'm going to check the air filter and ducts for leaks just in case.

What do you think?
