Mood: Raring to Ride
Fordies new Rocketship

Its said that familiararity breeds contempt,so when Im riding the 996 as I have done for the last 4000 miles I accept what I have is what Ive got. Thanks to Moto Morrelli for offering to give my bike a Major service and the once over.It conspires once "gotten into" that the shims will need replacing, one open and one closing rocker has marks/pits so again replaced. Finally decide to go the whole hog and remove the head and give it a Decoke as the rear cylinder has been running very weak and some valves were letting by. With a nice clean head and new gaskets , mixture set and the injectors balanced up, all the nuts and bolts checked for torque and marked so you can see if any one has come loose, rear wheel and sprocket nuts wired, looking very pro now, jet washed and cleaned . It now goes like a train with better throttle response and so much more power. I will have to relearn how to ride it now "Whats that I hear I could'nt ride the original one " Shyster's the lot of ya. 4D
