My fireblade had a similar issue on the isle of man in april, pulled perfectly upto 5000rpm then power stopped and the neddle whizzed round to the limiter. it turned out to be the clutch springs had lost there spring and shrunk a few mm causing clutch to slip.
£8 on some new springs from ebay, an hour in the garage (probably be less with a dry clutch) and the bike was back to her best.
I appreciate it's a different manufacturer but the symptoms sound very similar. Worth a shot for £8.
