I just had a thought i was looking at a packet of tea bags today (as you do ) and saw the legend 'high in antioxidants' . now i thought to myself if you made a really really concentrated brew and brushed /sprayed whatever on the relevant bits on your bike would it protect / prevent corrosion

Nope it would turn your paint work brown and stain your metal work. Tannin in the tea, see.
last winter i used a bike bubble with carbon Filters, creates a moisture free environment for your bike to sleep in, not 1 hint of cendensation or moisture.
Another vote for the scotoiler stuff. However it's practice here to hose off the bikes after a run in winter when they've cooled no matter how dark it is outside, dry and then recoat. Seems to work well for me.
Alternative is do what Ade does and coat liberally in oil and don't wash it for 2 years Seems to work well too
