This is 98dba measured at drive-by.
loosely a static test of 101dba is equivalent.
But be aware that our normal static tests are held at around 5/8 of the rev range where as passing a drive by meter you could be at Full throttle.
I may have to get my sound meter out and try and check my bike or Kev's or Dallas's
98dB Trackday at Donington
I Did one of these in 2001 the day before the Clubmans Championship event. I was out in the Sound of Thunder (on my TL1000S) and Supermono group and Almost every session I was in was red flagged due to riders constantly triggering the drive by meter on the start finish straight, mainly the Supermono riders. After the 2nd session that was red flagged we were advised to take it easy coming out of Goddards and if necessary roll off as we passed under the gantry where the Noise Meter was then located, sadly several riders ignored this advice and I doubt if I ever managed to string more than 4 laps together.
The last time DD was at Assen it was pretty much a similar story, make do baffles were littering the track and as a consequence the bikes that had lost them triggered the drive by Noise meter and again the Red flage came out.
My bike currently measures 102 dB in a Static test so I'll be fitting my baffle for the test day.
