without a doubt it realy makes you loose concentration!

I have a hands free kit in my car ! but i notice after i have taken a call ,I tend to end up in "lane 1" going very slow, and agree i can't remember the last part of the journey

I'm no beter other than i have a full hands free kit!

Food for thought

i can say that it affects your concentration away from driving. I can sit right next to some people, shiny blue and yellow with police written on the front and they wont see you.......

until you wave.....and er yes those DO get something done about them!

I do know a story of a guy who got knocked of his bike and killed!

the police checked his mobile phone and proved that he (the car driver) had just sent a lenghty text message! and he was done for some sort of manslaughter !!!!

not sure if it's true !!!

Andy B what is the score???

I would say that at virtually every 'serious' collision these days, the Police sieze the mobile phone from all parties involved. They are then tested to see if they were being used at the time of the incident.

Slightly different tact,

I remember one where a beautiful 24yr old died after a collision with a vehicle. She had been texting all evening on her phone including up to the collision as she crossed the road.

The context of the texts were a virtual rundown of her getting more and more drunk as the evening went on.

Good evidence, but a very sad affair.......especially where her parents were concerned!

Andy,I do have a question!

The last two mates of mine (who have been killed) on their bikes!!
were both carrying mobile phones on them!

In both cases their phones were never returned to their family?
any reason why?

I got done for the same thing in July, phone rang as I was waiting at a roundabout I answered it and told the caller I would ring them back shortly. Got pulled just down the road and have to say it was fair enough cant complain really.

Obviously i aint got a scooby on those particular incidents, but, presumably they wernt on the phone whilst riding, so i couldnt see why they couldnt get them back.

Were they refused to be returned?

not sure andy, but i have often wondered if the content of the text/phones were looked at and the dealing officer, might have decided (my1 mate had 2 or 3 ) female admirers
that it might have been beter to say the phones were destroyed! rather than return and inflict more pain !!!

makes me wonder!
