This is my road bike, a 2000 model 748S.
It was originally bought from new by a friend of mine, who I knew through our ownership of Honda RVF400RRs, as he'd finally given up on the unreliability of his and always fancied the classic 916 shape bike.
He bought it brand new in 2000 and commuted into London on it through the winter, but never really got on with it ... I'm not surprised!
Six months later he offered it to me at a silly price and I bit his arm off.
It came with a single seat and 50mm carbon Termis, so most of the major mods were done, but then I caught a major infection of carbon-itis!
