maybe the plugs overheating-- check you have the correct grade/gaps etc..a lean mixture may make the bike run hot and then the plugs would suffer
maybe the fuel filter may want changing- otherwise...

i've checked the wires from the generator there is no evidence of burning or heat build up in the wires

i have already eliminated the fuel pump by disconnecting at the 4pin plug and it was still the same- just to eliminate the filter i removed the filter that i replaced...

600 ss 190 miles before fuel light came on tonight--- was starting to think the bulb had blown!!!!! topped up at 193 miles with 14.2 litres=3.1 gallons so thats 62.2 miles to the gallon or 13.6...
