if you dont hear the solinoid clicking then take off the right hand fairing panel and look at the battery .....on the right hand side is the starter solinoid. behind it is a small push in conector...

i did mine myself using the parts shown...

i did mine myself using the parts shown below.
the original cable was shortened and the plastic 90 deg bend was cut off.
i then used an adjuster from a mountain bike cable ( same size) and the 996...

dodgy, i fitted a set of light hells to my wifes...

dodgy,
i fitted a set of light hells to my wifes 748 and it made a real difference to the pick up and turn in speed it felt like the bike had another 10bhp , fitting the old wheels back on the bike...

i rode my 999s last year with a mixture of standard , 999r, and carbon wheels and never changed any adjusment, just use the advantage it gives you......ie
faster acceleration
