That doesn't surprise me Chris.
They will be using genuine ducati parts at official prices, using ducati labour charges.

I reckon it could be put back on the road for considerably less, but I guess that just depends on whether you can be ar$ed to go through all the trouble of doing that.

I brought a Cat D VFr800 about 4 years back. Its quoted repair bill was £2k5 in parts (mainly plastics, headlight, clocks, all the brackets up front,
etc). By a bit of careful ringing around over a few months I got all the parts to do the job for about 800 quid.

As I said on your other thread, if the frame & engine are okay you stand a chance of sorting it. If the frame is beyond repair, well, game over really as it would be cheaper to break it and buy another.
