The problem, as can be seen from Dave G's photo, is that the small bolt is not central to the mounting bracket hole. This is the problem I had. If the hole was drilled out to larger diameter and larger steel and rubber washers were used then I think the problem would be resolved.

The original Cat is resiliently supported on both sides of engine, presumably because of its weight. Unfortunately these same mounts cannot be used because of the design of link pipe/bracket.

If I were refitting mine I think I'd get local welding shop to modify the bracket so that it is able to utilise the original mounting. Wouldn't take much doing Im sure.
