reason i'm looking at changing my 911 is that i have a very short commute to work, not so bothered about the reliability safety net of a brand new car anymore. If i keep it I will end up losing more on it than if i had bought say a 5 year old one!! If i sell in the next few months i won't end up losing too much. Hope to end up with £5-10k change when i have got a replacement.
I did look at 355 fezzas but i consider that not to be a 365 days a year car no matter how short the distance?!
Things i'm looking for in a car, sense of occasion, engine noise, performance, ergonomics!

Current short list in no particular order:
911 GT3 mk1
BMW M3 CSL
MASERATI 4200GT coupe

Natty> The Brera's gorgeous! Especially with the Skyview roof.

if you get one, gizza go, meester!

900MAN> There already is a Spider, but it's based on the Brera, not the GT. Don't think it's available in the UK yet.

[edit] Available from May, apparently.

I had to drive in the past Mazerati 3200 GT, and it was pain in a a$$ long journes.. Seats are not comfortable at all...

Plus it was a manual and it was a nightmare to drive in traffic for hours in Central London.

Would be a F355 for me. 360 Modenas plummiting in value with the 430 out. Cant see the 355 getting much lower in value than they are at the moment. Bottom end 355s now going for good 328 money. If youre bothered about resale I think I would be looking at 355s and a van for pottering around in! Like you say there not really a day to day car though. Always wanted a 355 and have saved every road test from every magazine over the years. Sad or what?

At my budget level its more like "life is too short to drive a Lada, get a FIAT", but its a cool T-Shirt!

went to jct brooklands in Leeds yesterday and had a good look at a red 4200 gransport, not to sure now? Looked very nice and the interior is a nice place to be, but alongside a challenge stradele and 430 i thought the colour wasn't right for the car?!? i know of someone who has a cambiocorsa in dark blue so i'm going to have a look at that....

Mood: R U thinking what I'm thinking?......Oh dear!
Wouldn't spend my own cash on a Massers, cos of DEPRECIATION, I'd be very surprised if it levelled off much from eye watering to merely painful after a year.

But there again most cars in that sort of bracket don't hold their value too well.

I'd also have serious doubts about a Masser taking much of a pasting on the road never mind the track. (I have made some assumptions based on your "track" record!!!)

You are really gonna struggle to better a Porsche,

If you can stand being in fast cruise mode rather than big attack the Masser will be OK but also look at Astons, DB7 V12.
