is it chaffing sir, oooo is it?

Sometimes the front locating "peg" bracket actually bends back allowing the tank to sit to far forward and rub against the s/damper. also make sure the rubber grommet in the front of the air box where the "peg" goes is not worn....
Also consider a later style airbox seal which is much thicker than the earlier models and makes a much better "seat" for the tank to sit on. It also stops loads of crap from being sucked in through the sides of the tank.
