Wheelie bins - what\'s all that about then?

Just got a new wheelie bin delivered. It's got a huge great sticker on the side saying "105 dB".

Damn, that means I won't be able to do a quiet day at Donington on it then

That's the acceptable noise level the binmen are allowed to go up to when they collect your bin at about 0630 on a Friday morning.
If you ask me, ours exceed it each & every week!

Wheelie bins are the primary transport of the ****ed,down in these parts, many a happy journey home in one of those,if i'm on my own though, usually ride the beer scooter home..

Beer scooter:Mystical device that transports you from your last hostelry, all the way home, and you will have no memory of that journey.

Beer goggles:Usually placed on eyes a couple of hours before beer scooter turns up,again, these are also a mystical device, will turn any munter into model, when in actual fact, they are a b.o.b.f.o.c.,(body off baywatch, face off crimewatch).

Beermuffs:Placed on ears, when you think that you are talking in hushed tones about someone in the vicinity, you are actually talking VERY LOUDLY.

Lol! Know that one only too well - they also manage to bend the lamppost at the end of the road every week too when they reverse the truck back up.

We've lived there two years and so far I think we've had 3 new posts and it's been put back upright countless times. It's currently at about 10° off vertical and has been for a few weeks now!

Funny this thread is on here. I have 2 things to say.

1. I put my wheelie bins out at my new house today and NOTHING was taken away, not the bin rubbish, not the paint cans or cardboard boxes or the black bags. NOTHING.
2. On account of putting all this rubbish out I was 10 mins. late for work and got the worst b0ll0cking I've ever had from a boss in my life.
3. (3 things to say, not 2)
When I came back to the house this evening NOT A SCRAP of rubbish had been removed.

So PLAN A. I am refusing to pay my council tax until they TAKE MY RUBBISH and after that I am taking my rubbish to the tip and not having these horribly unsightly great big concessions to BIN MEN who have ideas above their station and for some reason want to make TAKING YOUR RUBBISH an art form rather than the TOTALLY DEGRADING and MENIAL job it is, which is a job I respect and admire and frankly those guys, the old fashioned ones who used to take all your CR@P away, were the absolute SALT OF THE EARTH.

Rant over
(till tomorrow, when I have to go back to the house and deal with all the F*CKING RUBBISH they've left).

Cor, you all seem to have really naff bin men... ours are really good...

Very proficient(sp ?) at driving their truck along our road which is always full of parked cars.

They will take stuff that we should really take to the tip( as long as you ask nicely )

They always say 'Hello' and pass the time of day and they always aknowledge my little lad who always waves out of the window at them

... and they send US the christmas card !!!!!!

Are we just lucky ????
