Anybody got MCN yet? Apparently it has a test of the Sport Classics in there.
A friend, in a middle eastern country which he cannot name, wanted to have a look as he has his deposit down on one. Any chance of a scan and posting it?
Yeah - just read it over breakfast in Tesco's (I know cheapskate !!!).
Sadly, nice pictures but no substance - nothing in the write up we didnt already know and the riding impressions were a miserly paragraph on the two models (only - no GT on test) which largely complained about wrist ache!
They got a general good write up though.
I think an electronic version (pdf) of MCN used to be available ???
Yes nice pictures,I've seen a couple of pre-production examples and the only disapointment was the Brake caliper's. Ducati for whatever reason has fitted two pot Sliding caliper's,Tacky, cheap and they don't work as well as the four pot ones they fit on all there other bikes. For £9500 I would expect better, It spoils an other-wise great looking bike
I was up at Italia Moto last weekend and Ducati are really pushing these bikes.I picked up a nice glossy brochure, posters, stickers and a box of pencils.(Yes they have got your name on them mate! ) Bikes look great, especially the yellow Sport 1000.
I had dinner with Ducati and Paul Smart before TA5, Paul was at the launch-in fact had just got back-and reckoned the bikes were belters. He actually mentioned both the brakes and the suspension as being excellent, says they steer very well, hold a line, and the motor is perfect for a road bike, nice and grunty but revs freely as well. I rode DUK's 620 Multistrada at Brands which has the sliding calipers-first thought when approaching Druids was-these brakes are a bit weak-but then I realised they were stopping the bike fine. They lack a bit of initial 'bite' compared to a P34 caliper but the outright stopping power is good.
