Mood: Firing on all 4 !!
Card been cloned and have been cleared out !

Got home last night to a letter from natwest suggesting thier had been some odd activity on my account and i should get in touch to check, also my cards are now blocked as a precaution.
So rang up and confirmed i was not in a safeway in london on monday and spent £12.
anyway cut a long story short, they have managed to extend my OD from a respectable £1800 OD (paid next week) to now over £5000 OD
Last night it was 4k and this am they had done me for another grand and it was stopped on another £488 to ebuyer (patern forming here - keep reading if an ebuyer)
so speaking to the bank today asking if they would allow me to come to a branch to get some cash as i have no cards or cash, they refuse as i am over my 5k overdraft limit, and they have rejected my mortgage payment today and charged me £29 for the honour.
So it seems i cannot get my money, or pay my bills but someone who clones my card can spend over 3k of money i dont have with no problem !!
i am a network admin and have a keen eye on security and things and people upto no good, i always am vigilant with cards and online stuff overall, i have used that card in 2 machines only and 3 retailers online only (card is only 4 weeks old) one of the online places is paypal other is play.com and other is ebuyer. Now its funny that as soon as all 3 people in natwest saw ebuyer the tone changed and it seems all is not well with security.
Its wrong to speculate without facts, but my money (whats left of it) is there is a rotten egg inside flogging number and the 3 digit codes to the highest bidder.
I have now asked / insisted that they remove my account and all transaction details from thier accounts system. They have closed my account and removed all card and payment traces but my details are kept (accounting reasons)
So it goes to show it can happen to anyone so keep your cards safe, and keep an eye out on who's behind you at a till, etc etc
I will be keeping my money under my mattress from now on (could mean a rough nights kip as its all coppers )

Wow, sorry to hear about that

But they will assume it and you'll pay nothing in the end, right?

So it seems but have to wait with a frozen account for a week or so, and then it should be refunded. New account being setup but have the buggering about of changing all direct debits and those hassles to look forward to.
Take care peeps

hope it works out for you, my wifes card was cloned and the scum used it for betting £2.5k on paddypower.com, our bank were very helpful and put it right, it took two days, obviously longer for the new cards.

What I couldnt understand was that a friend later told me that if whatever the scum had placed a bet on had won the winnings would have been paid into the card that they used for the bet in the first place, it didnt appear to win anyway.

Took me weeks to get my credit-card sorted out, even though it was for $20.

Heres hoping you have better luck...
