Wanted 748 / 916 shock..

Hi all,

I'm current 1/4 the way through building a Air cooled, 916 frame using a 900ss swing arm.

I have modified the frame but I need to borrow a 916 shock or 749 type shock to measure the length and to do a mock-up on the bike.

I live in the Ruislip / Uxbridge area can anyone help me?

Cheers

I got myself a Showa shock from 916 not long ago, awaiting to source an Ohlins at decent price for my project (aircooled Superbike...). Won't be looking at assembling anything before the new year and now courtesy of an idiot turning across the bus lane I was travelling with, I need to fix my ST4...

I live in Purley Surrey.

You are welcome to use it if you need. I'll swap this against any tips you grab along the way of your project...

Yea, more than happy to swap ideas... I'm planning to get to MD racing in the new year, so I'll let you know.

Just a few pictures on that I've had to do with the frame..

Picture 3 - Because I'm using a different swing arm I've had the cut the bottom on the frame and remove the suspension / tank to allow the shock to fit in.

OK let me know

Hmm looks like quite a lot of mods you are doing. I am going to keep the standard swingarm myself. Less aggravation I reckon, and I want to keep a single sider so I can swap wheels with the 998.

I am planning to put a DS engine in I believe but just worried about the cross member that you seem to have removed. I will have to check up on that.

Interesting those pictures.
I reckon that the Kyalami cross member will clear those throttle bodies... Should be good news for my project
