Leather Repairs?

Can anybody recommend a place to repair and clean my one piece Dainese leathers?

I have a small hole in one forearm and it looks like I'll need one section replaced.

Personal recommendations would be great!

Woman recommended by WJB/Mark of No Limits fame replaced my Dainese zips, mended stitching etc. Based in Edgware. V. reasonable. 70 squid for everything that needed doing, which was quite a lot because some of that stitching had been put under tremendous strain!

Not sure about the cleaning though. Can't you do that yourself? If I can clean my own leathers I'm damn sure you can clean yours.

I'll do a fetch and carry service from yours to Edgware this weekend if you promise undertake to rideout to Burnham with me in the spring.

Thanks for the info Mav.

Just searching back through the old board and spotted the Edgeware one - got any more details like a name or address? Might be able to pop over there one lunchtime or something and drop them off which will be nice and easy.

I was just thinking it would be easier to have it all cleaned (properly - like inside and everything!) at once when it's being repaired.

It'll be a pleasure to take you for a ride anytime Ruth . . .

Have it somewhere but buggered if I can think where. U2U WJB - he can get on to Mark, No limits, who can get number from partner at Girls Bike Two, Hitchin who can give the number. She works in a shed (I think that is now spelt shead) in her back garden and does a damn fine job. I'd be happy to do some deliveries, Ant, as I plan to be out and about this weekend on my bike, weather permitting. Chelmsford is an easy run (Hertford, Royston, Epping etc - nice bimble) so it's not a problem. Just need to know if your leathers would be scrunch-uppable in a rucksack?

Unfortunately they won't fit in a rucksac as they're one piece and very thick ... just like the owner!

Either that or a bloody big rucksac!

Would they fit in a courrier bag? I have one that used to carry a laptop, suit/shoes for work etc etc. It's pretty voluminous. This is not an insurmountable problem. So, U2U me your address. I'll pop over this Saturday, if that's convenient, collect your leathers. In the meantime, you ring whatsername, book the repair in, tell her I'll drop them off on Saturday p.m.

Would it appear to the ousider that I have nothing better to do with my free time
