Brilliant news, I commute from Hastings to London and back every weekday, costing me £3000.00 for an annual and that's just for the train, no bus or tube involved!

So another charge would be welcomed warmly, I think not

I may be wrong but I believe that Bikes are exempt from road charging.

Thus, if the bunch of 'aping primates' bring road charging in and the 'train corps' also want to cash in then my 28 mile commute will be covered by a brand new 900 Monster, I will purchase.

Wether the wife likes the idea of a 2nd bike or not.

Congestion charging yes, road charging no.

From the details so far, it looks like everyone will pay the same flat rate - so Mr Trucker will be paying the same rate as Mr Biker, as Mrs (or Mrs!) SmartCar as Mr 4-litre BMW.

Aren't we supposed to be promoting a more environmentally-friendly transport plan these days? If so, neither of these suggestions seem to be of benefit but more to the detriment!

Its amazing. They try to price us off the road to get us to use public transport, but public transport can't cope so they try to price that to force us... where exactly.....

Pavement charging next cos the flag stones can't cope with everyone walking to work.
