The thing with electrics is that as long as there is no current flowing through a circuit then it can get wet and then dryed as much as you like and will suffer no lasting damage. Introduce some electricity into it and the corrosion starts straight away. The modern multi layer circuit boards make it even worse.

Agree with the "throw it away" crowd - they're so cheap these days that you can pick them up from friends for free when they upgrade, or off ebay for a few quid if you just want a phone and not the latest all-singing gadget.

It would be worth keeping the SIM card and checking to see if that still works in another phone, but if not just restore your phone numbers from your SIM backup ... you do keep a backup, don't you?
