Saw it 4 weeks ago and it is brilliant, save as TP says for the slightly dodgy accent.
I rarely watch films twice but this will be one I buy on DVD and watch again. More a feel good story that also includes bikes than an out an out bike film

Which begs another question. How many 'chick flicks' and weepies does a man have to sit through before he gets a chance to see a film that interests him? Is there a scientific ratio? I'm begining to think that it's close to infinity.

Saw it last night and what a truly amazing story, Anthony Hopkins was brilliant in the role of Burt Munro, the Kiwi who raced an old Indian at Bonneville Salt Flats in the 60's.

Filmed in my home town. Burt was a nutter of the highest order, and not bad with a bloody spanner by all accounts

No one ever takes me to the pictures...unless it's a harry potter, narnia, etc etc etc!
Looks like I'll be waiting for it coming out on DVD (sigh!)

Took the whole family to see this last night and the jury's result -

HIT

It is a 'feel-good' movie and a bit sentimental but Hopkins is good in the central role. His inspirational line, when asked why he wanted to got to Bonneville is -

"You live more in five minutes on a bike… than some people live in their lifetime,"

There's a good review of it here - The Fastest Indian - Review

True the Kiwi accent is dodgy but then most Kiwis are dodgy

Superb film - saw it last week. A bit slow in places but then again he was old!
