Neil, judging by those picture, you've got superb skills, mate. Those airtubes look great. Would it be too cheeky to ask you for a repair job on a couple of airtubes? Just small cracks, no pieces missing. I'll be glad to show you as a sponsor on my race bike. You are about to start this as a business, aren't you? Aren't you?! No! You should, you know.
no plans to start as a business . . . . . yet! So far it's just been for myself and friends and acquantances.
Felix, I'd be happy to take a look at your tubes, see what can be done. In the first instance (and to save you sending them to me at the moment) can you take a few pics of them?
Cheers, Neil.
P.S. Thanks for the kind words, at this rate I won't be able to squeeze my head through the door!!!
neil748r Just had a word with the guys in the carbon shop and they say use locktite 9323 to bond carbon together and hysol 11 epoxy resin as a filler. Thats what holds the race car together.
The biggest problem is that there is a void between the two parts so I need something that'll both fill the void and bond the 2 parts together at the same time.
Spoke to 3M this afternoon and they've recommended one of their products, DP490. It's black, fills voids, sets hard, is oil resistant, has a very high adhesion factor and is designed to be used with carbon fiber. Sounded ideal so I've ordered some.
