| According to the xfire guide (you did read it, didn't you?!) you can send messages while in-game by using the (default) "SCROLL LOCK + X" key combination (note that you can change this in the xfire options should you wish).
It didn't seem to be working 100% like the documentation from what I could see, but at least we ended up on the same server!
