| Clutch spider spring failure I believe there have been a couple of threads on this but it looks like this is the cause of my slipping clutch -   Does anyone have a spare I can borrow whilst Nelly trys to source me another new one? How long should these things last anyway? The clutch is as dry as a bone, presumably the Silverstone gravel and dust didn't help, and I am fully aware that the 'spiders feet' need regularly greasing. One other point - the STM maintenance guide suggests clean, grease/overhaul every 2,000 KM, i.e. every 1,250 miles whereas I've done 4,000 miles on this clutch with 5,000 miles on the plates. Anyone care to share their experiences/suggestions? [Edited on 8-6-2005 by everton]  |
