changes afoot for April 2006
Things I used to know but have probably changed since I last used them:
max distance to alarm push in any direction - 30metres
max room size without need for emergency lighting - 8sq.m
disabled toilet sizes - there's a minimum size but the overiding factor is the local authority requirements which can change the size by about 0.5m over the building regs layout - not sure on minimum size but doors are all extra wide - as are all of the exit doors to allow disabled egress in event of fire.
