Erm, I don't really know how to say this, but to avoid the major ****ging that must inevitably come my way for digging for sympathy please see the attachment!

Turns out the (very expensive) consultant I saw last week may not have been 100% correct. Close examination of all xrays by a shoulder specialist confirms that, while not perfect, my collarbone is certainly healing.... Yeah, I'm as confused as you! Still lots of pain but that's not uncommon and probably the result of a cyst. The consultants parting words were "I should get back on your motorbike now if I were you", so I will do!

In the last seven days I have received an enormous amount of sympathy/goodwill from everyone here and my family. I'm sorry if it's been a false alarm, and I'm gutted that I didn't race on Sunday, but thanks for all the good wishes. I hope I can pay you all back by staying sunny side up for the rest of the season....
