Clock failure

Might be worthwhile knowing this.
Just been for a spin on my 749.
I stopped for a break and when I got back on the engine started but the rev counter spun round to 13,000rpm and stopped there (the engine was ticking over normally.) None of the warning lights worked and the LCD panel was blank.
I phoned my dealer who was unsure what it was but said I would be ok to ride it home if the engine sounded normal.
When I got it home I pulled out the 3 Amp fuse (the furthest one away from you in the fairing) and it was OK, when I put it back in the clocks , LCD etc all returned to normal operation.
Just thought it might be worthwhile knowing when your out and about.
