I disagree and has been said already in this thread people are quite prepared to travel some distance to get a good job done. Snobbery doesn’t come into it, it’s a simple fact that certain service people do a good job for fair money and will not rip you off. If someone treats me well then I will sing their praises, if someone rips me off then I will be straight on here and tell the world about it.
Over the years I have had a number of bikes and had dealings with many dealers all over the country. There are only a very few that I would trust with my bike/money. Personally I wouldn’t go back to JHP because they failed to fix my ST2 but still charged me so I don’t recommend them to people. I lost all confidence in the dealer who supplied the bike when they suggested it might help to get a dynojet kit fitted. Another independent dealer insisted that the ST2 was air cooled and the big thing above the front wheel was infact an oil cooler.

Perhaps the problem is that people think that Ducati’s are easy to work on. Any engine of less than 1000cc’s which produces over 100hp is in a very high state of tune, there are not many cars that produce over 100hp per litre. Servicing is not simple. I would and have done fairly major work on my car (including head gasket and cam belt changes) but the most I will do to the bike is change the oil and plugs. Valve clearances etc will be left to a specialist whether that be Cornerspeed or someone else if I find them to be better. Also fault finding on the later bikes is impossible without the specialist Ducati diagnostic equipment.

I’m sorry if you feel that the original poster was not prepared to travel to get the work done. Personally I and many other would be. I do not know Drunkinvegas so I felt it was only fair to inform him of who my choice would be and let him make up his own mind. Also his posting doesn’t say anything about how far he would be prepared to travel.
