Stop start and then left parked up for week or two aint any good. there is moisture in the air it gets into the engine and can stick to the bores, it mixes with the oil to. Put it another way you jump out of bed it takes a while for your body to warm up and get going and you feel stiff. Your engine is the same untill the oil gets warmed up it ain't doing it's job properly. I have a very good mate that owns a Ducati garage (not official) i get mates rates there. I do the donkey work the to the technical stuff  But I do most of the work myself at home anything to keep the Ducati experence as low cost as possible.
